GENERATIONS OF FAITH (G.O.F.):

This year, the year long theme for our Generations of Faith (G.O.F.) celebrations will be "Prayer." We invite you to "pray through the rainbow" with us: Take home a Prayer Card that will be given out on a Sunday at the start of every month. They will each be different colored cards. The Greeters will hand you one of these on your way out from church. Each card will be punched with a hole and the first card will be attached to a metal ring. You can then put all of your prayer cards on this ring, and by the end of the year you will have a complete set of 10-12 different cards.

We are looking forward to seeing you at our first G.O.F. Session on Wednesday October 15th at 6pm or Saturday October 18th at 9am.

PARISH LIBRARY:

The featured books from the I.O.P Parish Library for September 2008 are:

"The Christian Mom's Answer Book" - by Mike Yorkey and Sandra Aldrich

OR

" Daddy's Home!" - by Seven Schnur

Brief Overviews: "Are you blessed with a lively family of children, grandchildren, or teens? Are you also blessed with the trials and tribulations that come as often as the good times? Why not pick up one of these new books. Both offer encouragement, practical advice, and a light-hearted, creative outlook on making a Christian home."

Scripture Reflections:

(For Week of August 24th from Sunday Bulletin)

  • The Holy Spirit gathers us together as a holy church - God's beloved people. We are united with Catholics throughout the world as we listen to God's sacred word and celebrate around the holy altar. Let this celebration echo the words of St. Paul's Letter to the Romans, which will be proclaimed this day: "Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God!"

  • A Family Perspective - Like Jesus in today's Gospel, we are seen by others in different ways. Perhaps the name our family gives us is closest to our identity. They know us best. Who do you say you are?

  • In today's reading St. Paul reminds the Romans - and us - that all things come from God: "For from Him and through Him and for Him all things are." Good stewards understand that all is a gift and share generously the gifts of time, talent, and treasure with with they've been blessed.

AREA EVENTS:

  • Memorial Mass for Tim Russert - The Sisters of Mercy invite you and your families to a Memorial Mass for the repose of the soul of Tim Russert which will be celebrated at Our Lady of Victory Basilica at 2 pm on Sunday September 14th.

Mission Statement:

We, the faith community of Infant of Prague Parish, united in the Holy Spirit celebrate the presence of Christ in Word, Sacrament, and each other. We strive to build up the kingdom of God in a spirit of fellowship and service. We welcome all to journey with us as we continue to mature in our faith by our worship of God and our reaching out to our brothers and sisters in need.

Welcome Home!

You are a stranger but once. You are a child of God, redeemed by Our Savior, Jesus Christ. In God's name, we welcome you. May you find friendship, peace, and serenity in our loving and worshipping community. If you are a visitor interested in joining our parish community or the Catholic Faith, please call the parish office. If you are returning after being away....Welcome home!

It is our hope that our community will help you mature in your faith and grow in your love of Jesus, and that your presence among us will enrich and strengthen the life of our community.
The center of our parish’s life is our communal celebration of the Eucharist, and the life that we celebrate and share in when we gather together to worship God at Mass, finds expression in the various ministries, organizations and activities of our parish.
It is our sincere hope that you will consider the ways in which you can become an active member of our faith community by using the gifts and talents God has given you to help build up God’s Kingdom here in our midst.
